2025 Business of the Month is a great way we can showcase a business member of our Chamber. The more we learn about our members, the easier to Shop Local.
Merchant Bottom Line is the Marketing Company behind the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce. Owner, Bernie Martin, has been involved in Marketing and Sales his entire adult life. Early in his career he advanced from a Territory Sales Rep to a Division Manager, responsible for the entire northeast US for a large Fortune 500 company. Learning from all that corporate experience, he went off on his own and has owned several businesses since. He has been a Keynote Speaker for several large corporations (NAPA, Sunoco, American Petroleum Institute & The Allen Group).
In the early 2000’s, when the Internet was getting started, the fascination of understanding how it worked; and, more importantly, how a business listing got on the first page of search results consumed his research. Within a few years he launched his own Internet Digital Marketing Company – Merchant Bottom Line.
With the advent of cell towers, the itch to travel with his wife and see the United States allowed him to be an early pioneer of “working remotely” on websites and social medias, all while traveling the US, Canada and Alaska in a 40’ Motor Home! During our RV travels, we always liked Texas, the people and the principals of this great state. After 11 years of RV traveling full time, we decided to stop and chose Texas, specifically Bowie County, to purchase a home.
Since moving to this area in 2020, Bernie has helped over 30+ businesses start or improve their website, get their Facebook Business Page properly formatted, Google Business Profile Review page updated and has helped over a dozen non-profits receive all their fund-raising dollars through a free no-credit-card-fee software system.
